God is perfect in knowledge and wisdom; having no sin in Him; He determines what is right and wrong. That’s why we can trust Him no matter what, because we know His righteous judgment will always workout for our good; even when we don’t understand our circumstances; just like Job’s convictions about God empowered him to endure and overcome.

Paul reminds us that we can’t trust in our own judgment of what’s right and wrong; because when we did, we sinned and lost our lives “the wages of sin is death” and that’s what he’s talking about in 2Corinthians 1:9 when he said “we had the sentence of death in ourselves”.

2Corinthians 1:9
“But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, BUT IN God which raiseth the dead”

Hebrews 12:9
“Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, AND LIVE?”

If we choose not to be in subjection to and under the authority of God, then we do not have Him or eternal life. But if we continue in “the way”, “the path of righteousness” then we have life and God’s blessings upon us; and He will hear our prayers and will help us when we ask Him. (Hebrews 4:16, Psalms 23:3, Proverbs 2:9,20; 8:20; 12:28)

2John 1:8-9
“Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a FULL reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”

Romans 13:8-10
“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is BRIEFLY comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”

Proverbs 17:17
“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”

Psalms 31:23
” O love the LORD, all ye His saints:
for the LORD PRESERVETH the faithful …”

1John 5:2-3
“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.”

Psalms 23:3
“He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

Proverbs 2:9
“Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.”

Proverbs 2:20
“That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.”

Proverbs 8:20
“I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment”

Proverbs 12:28
“In the way of righteousness is LIFE; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.”
