John 13:10
“Jesus saith to him,
He that is washed needeth not
save to wash his feet,
but is clean every whit:
and ye are clean, but not all.”

At the time of our initial conversion to Christ; at our initial profession of faith, confession of our past sins, and sincere repentance; Jesus completely cleanses us from all our past sins and He has the right to do so because of His righteousness (His sinless sacrifice for our sins).

Just like Jesus said to His disciples, those who are washed from their past sins are clean “every whit” (completely) except what needs to be washed after that. His symbolic example was our “feet” that gets dirty from our daily walking symbolizing sins that occur after that.

Luke 11:1-4
“And it came to pass, that, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said unto Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And He said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Give us DAY BY DAY
our DAILY bread.
AND FORGIVE US OUR SINS;

for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”

Man’s false doctrines can’t reason this truth away, scripture doesn’t contradict.  It’s right there plain as day.

This is a daily prayer asking for daily forgiveness of sins. Jesus said to do this. Will we follow doctrines of men or will we believe Jesus and do what He says?
