“THE UNCLEANNESS OF SIN”

After GOD delivered HIS people from Egyptian bondage, they lived and moved together in tents like nomads. HE gave them a lot of instructions on how to live in healthy ways and GOD included those instructions into HIS laws in the Old Testament. One of those instructions was about being sanitary when defecating.
The LORD told them to always keep and carry a paddle tool attached to their weapon and to dig a hole, to do their business (ease themselves) and then completely cover up the poo afterwards. The LORD equated it to being clean.
More interesting is that GOD told them to do this or HE wouldn’t be with them in their camp. HE would leave them because of their uncleanness. If HE was no longer with them, HE wouldn’t be with them to deliver them from their enemies.
Deuteronomy 23:12-14
“Thou shalt have a place also
without the camp,
whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
And thou shalt have
a paddle upon thy weapon;
and it shall be,
when thou wilt ease thyself abroad,
thou shalt dig therewith,
and shalt turn back and cover
that which cometh from thee:
For the LORD thy GOD walketh
in the midst of thy camp,
to deliver thee,
and to give up thine enemies before thee;
therefore shall thy camp be holy:
that HE see no UNCLEAN thing in thee,
and turn away from thee.”
GOD is an excellent teacher. HE used this type of situation not just to teach about how to be sanitary so the people wouldn’t physically die because of disease; but HE made this uncleanness symbolic of sin and unrepentant sinning (spiritual uncleanness).
HE let us know that if HE sees spiritual uncleanness in us (unrepentant sin), then HE will turn away from us this same way until we remedy the situation through confession, repentance and asking forgiveness of that past sin.
1 Thessalonians 4:7 (KJV)
“For GOD hath not called us
unto uncleanness,
but unto holiness.”
UNCLEANNESS vs HOLINESS
unholy vs holy
unclean vs clean
ungodly vs godly
unrighteousness vs righteousness
When we sin we are supposed to confess, repent and ask for forgiveness of that past sin (The Lord’sPrayer) so it can be covered by the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. When we are forgiven, GOD takes away that uncleanness and makes us clean, righteous and holy again. But if we refuse to do that, we are living in uncleanness and spiritual death; similar to what Cain did by refusing to obey the exact process the LORD had commanded him to perform.
1 John 1:9
“IF WE CONFESS our sins,
HE is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins,
and to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness.”
If we are living in spiritual uncleanness (unrepentant sinning), then GOD will depart from us because we have departed from HIM because we are unclean; just like Deuteronomy described.
Isaiah 59:1-2
“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened,
that it cannot save;
neither his ear heavy,
that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated
between you and your GOD,
and your sins have hid HIS face
from you, that HE will not hear.”
Psalms 66:18 (KJV)
“If I regard iniquity in my heart,
the LORD will not hear me”
John 9:31 (KJV)
“Now we know that GOD heareth not sinners:
but if any man be a worshipper of GOD,
AND DOETH HIS will,
him HE heareth.”
Deuteronomy 31:16-17
“And the LORD said unto Moses,
Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers;
and this people will rise up,
and go a whoring after the gods
of the strangers of the land,
whither they go to be among them,
and will FORSAKE ME,
and BREAK MY COVENANT
which I have made with them.
Then MY anger shall be kindled
against them in that day,
AND I WILL FORSAKE THEM,
and I will hide MY face from them,
and they shall be devoured,
and many evils and troubles
shall befall them;
so that they will say in that day,
Are not these evils come upon us,
because our GOD is not among us?”
The New Testament and Jesus’ testimony also say this is true.
Romans 1:24 (KJV)
“Wherefore GOD also gave them up
to UNCLEANNESS through the LUSTS
of their own hearts,
to dishonour their own bodies
between themselves”
Romans 6:19-21 (KJV)
“I speak after the manner of men
because of the infirmity of your flesh:
for as ye have yielded your members
servants to UNCLEANNESS
and to INIQUITY unto iniquity;
even so now yield your members
servants to righteousness unto holiness.
For when ye were the servants of SIN,
ye were free from righteousness.
What fruit had ye then in those things
whereof ye are now ashamed?
for the end of those things is DEATH.”
UNCLEANNESS
INIQUITY
SIN
DEATH
2 Corinthians 12:21 (KJV)
“And lest, when I come again,
my GOD will humble me among you,
and that I shall bewail many
which have SINNED already,
and have NOT REPENTED of the UNCLEANNESS
and fornication and lasciviousness
which they have committed.”
Galations 5:19-21
“Now the works of the flesh
are manifest, which are these;
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before,
as I have also told you in time past,
that THEY WHICH DO such things
SHALL NOT inherit the kingdom of God.”
(Also Ephesians 4:17-32)
We mortify our members by resisting sin and when we do sin, we obey GOD’S command on getting it covered by the blood of Jesus through confession, repentance and asking forgiveness for every new past sin daily. Every time we sin we become unclean, unrighteous and defiled by that sin. We require to be reconciled back to GOD because sin has separated us from GOD. That separation doesn’t have to be permanent and GOD in HIS mercy gives us a certain amount of time to be reconciled back to HIM if we decide to do what HE requires (sincere confession, repentance and asking forgiveness).
Colossians 3:5-10
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of GOD cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of HIM that created him”
2Peter:1-22
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. For if GOD spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds; The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the LUST of UNCLEANNESS, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
While they promise them liberty,
they themselves
are the servants of corruption:
for of whom a man is overcome,
of the same is he brought in bondage.
For if after they have escaped
the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ,
they are again entangled therein,
and overcome,
the latter end is worse with them
than the beginning.
For it had been better for them
not to have known
the way of righteousness,
THAN, AFTER THEY HAVE KNOWN IT,
TO TURN FROM
THE HOLY COMMANDMENT
delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb,
The dog is turned to his own vomit again;
and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”
Romans 8:12-13
“Therefore, brethren,
we are debtors, not to the flesh,
to live after the flesh.
For if ye live after the flesh,
ye shall die:
but if ye through the Spirit
do mortify the deeds of the body,
ye shall live.”
1John 2:1-6
“My little children,
these things write I unto you,
that ye sin not.
And if ANY MAN SIN,
we have an advocate with the FATHER,
Jesus Christ the righteous:
And He is the propitiation for our sins:
and not for ours only,
but also for the sins of the whole world.
And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep HIS commandments.
He that saith, I know HIM, and keepeth not HIS commandments, is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth HIS word, in him verily is the love of GOD perfected: hereby know we that we are in HIM. He that saith he abideth in HIM ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.”
1John 1:5-10
This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that GOD is light, and in HIM is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with HIM, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as HE is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ HIS Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
IF WE CONFESS our sins,
HE is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins,
and to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make HIM a liar, and HIS Word is not in us.”
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Luke 11:2-4
“And He said unto them,
When ye pray, say,
Our FATHER which art in heaven,
Hallowed be THY name.
THY kingdom come.
THY will be done,
as in heaven, so in earth.
Give us day by day our DAILY bread.
AND FORGIVE US OUR SINS;
for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.”
Luke 6:46-49
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord,
and do not the things which I say?
Whosoever cometh to Me,
and heareth My sayings,
AND DOES them,
I will shew you to whom he is like:
He is like a man which built an house,
and digged deep,
and laid the foundation on a Rock:
and when the flood arose,
the stream beat vehemently
upon that house, and could not shake it:
for it was founded upon a Rock.
But he that heareth,
and doeth not,
is like a man that without a foundation
built an house upon the earth;
against which the stream did beat
vehemently, and immediately it fell;
and the ruin of that house was great.”
Matthew 7:21-23
“Not every one that saith unto Me,
Lord, Lord,
shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he THAT DOETH
the will of My FATHER which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day,
Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in Thy name?
and in Thy name have cast out devils?
and in Thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them,
I never knew you: depart from Me,
ye THAT WORK INIQUITY.”
Jesus created everything and everyone.
He knows who everyone is.
He is saying that it will be as though He never knew them because of their sin.
They declared they “knew” Him.
A man “knows” his wife when they two become one (physically).
They were declaring they obeyed by His Spirit that was in them (spiritually one). Jesus was saying because they were practicing unrepentant sinning; they weren’t in Him and He wasn’t in them (I never knew you).
2John 1:9
“Whosoever transgresseth,
and abideth not in
the doctrine of Christ,
HATH NOT GOD.
He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ,
he hath both the FATHER and the Son.”
John 14:20
“At that day ye shall know
that I am in My FATHER,
and ye in Me,
and I in you.”
John 14:21
“He that hath My commandments,
and keepeth them,
he it is that loveth Me:
and he that loveth Me
shall be loved of My FATHER,
and I will love him,
and will manifest Myself to him.
John 14:23
Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love Me,
he will keep My words:
and my FATHER will love him,
and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him.”
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of GOD the FATHER and the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no third person.
GOD the FATHER is the GODHEAD. HE is also called the MOST HIGH GOD. The Lord Jesus Christ HIS Son is subordinatw to the FATHER, He is second in command under GOD the FATHER. Jesus says the FATHER is greater than Him. He also says He was created and came forth from the FATHER. (Supporting scriptures for that at the bottom below.)
This is how Jesus Christ promised to manifest Himself to us faithful believers. This is how they make their abode with us. This is how they are living in us, we become one with them; their Spirit lives within us to guide, to protect, to cleanse, to renew us daily. We are completely subordinate to Christ and Christ is subordinate to GOD the FATHER.
This is the way they have chosen to have a relationship with us that is incredibly intimate, personal and conditional. It’s executed according to GOD’S everlasting covenant of salvation under the administration of the New Testament.
John 14:28 (KJV)
“Ye have heard how I said unto you,
I go away,
and come again unto you.
If ye loved Me,
ye would rejoice,
because I said, I go unto the FATHER:
for My FATHER is greater than I.”
1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV)
“But I would have you know,
that the head of every man is Christ;
and the head of the woman is the man;
and the head of Christ is GOD.
GOD the FATHER put everything under HIS Son Jesus Christ. The FATHER is not under Christ, HE is excepted (exempted).
1Corinthians 15:27-28
“For HE hath put all things under His feet.
But when HE saith
all things are put under Him,
it is manifest that HE is excepted,
which did put all things under Him.
And when all things
shall be subdued unto Him,
then shall the Son also Himself
be subject unto HIM
that put all things under Him,
that GOD may be all in all.”
Jesus speaking of Himself
Revelation 3:14 (KJV)
“And unto the angel of the church
of the Laodiceans write;
These things saith the Amen,
the Faithful and True Witness,
THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION of GOD”
John 16:27-28
For the FATHER HIMSELF loveth you,
because ye have loved Me,
and have believed
that I came out from GOD.
I came forth from the Father,
and am come into the world:
again, I leave the world,
and go to the Father.”
Jesus said He came out from GOD.
Jesus said He came forth from the FATHER. These are more creation declarations of how He came into being. Every other thing, living and non-living, was made by GOD the FATHER through Jesus Christ. The Bible shows Jesus is the only being made directly from GOD THE FATHER.
“came out from GOD”
“came forth from the FATHER”
Jesus mixed this description in with describing leaving heaven and then returning again. But these phrases are used in scripture to denote creation in other places. Women bring forth their children. They proceed out from the one who bore them.
Jesus could have said He left heaven and then returned. I believe He chose to use descriptive language to show how He came into being. I believe this description served two purposes, describing Jesus’ creation and that GOD sent Him into the world.
Colossians:8-9
“Beware lest any man spoil you
through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men,
after the rudiments of the world,
and not after Christ.
For IN Him dwelleth
all the fulness of the GODHEAD bodily.”
GOD the FATHER is alone the GODHEAD. HE is dwelling in Jesus Christ. This next scripture explains it. The FATHER gave 100% of HIS SPIRIT to dwell in Jesus. That means 100% of GOD’S power. We as born again believers are given the Holy Spirit in measure, we have different gifts of the Holy Spirit and not the complete fullness like Jesus does (Romans 12:6 & 1 Corinthians 12).
John 3:34-35
“For He Whom GOD hath sent
speaketh the words of GOD:
for GOD giveth not the SPIRIT
by measure unto Him.
The FATHER loveth the Son,
and hath given all things into His hand.”
