When you read Isaiah chapter two, do you think this prophecy happened already, or has it only partially happened?
Isaiah 2:1-5
The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob;
and He will teach us of HIS WAYS,
and we will walk in HIS PATHS:
for out of Zion shall go forth THE LAW,
and THE WORD of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And He shall judge among the nations,
and shall rebuke many people:
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more.
O house of Jacob, come ye,
and let us walk in THE LIGHT of the LORD.”
I believe some of this prophesy occurred when Jesus came the first time and I also believe the rest will occur when He returns the second time. We have wonderful things to look forward to brothers and sisters in Christ!
The biggest thing I see in these scriptures, besides this future hope we have, is the fact that God is letting us know that His kingdom (mountain/Zion) is established by His laws.
Those laws are described as:
His Ways
His Paths
The Law
The Word
The Light of the LORD
These things stand together as the same thing and they are exalted in God’s kingdom, even in “the last days”. Notice it says that these laws are desired and searched for by people who want to be taught. These laws of God should never be denied or despised by God’s children.
Let’s be ready for Jesus’ return so He doesn’t find us in this terrible condition of denying Him by our works…
Titus 1:16
“They profess that they know God; BUT IN WORKS THEY DENY HIM, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”
If we don’t believe God’s laws are still binding on us as believers how can we not be disobedient? How can we obey what we don’t believe we are required to obey?
Isaiah 1:3-4
“The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, MY PEOPLE doth not consider. Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.”
Proverbs 14:34
“Righteousness exalteth a nation:
but sin is a reproach to any people.”
