The tribulation is also called “The Time of Jacob’s Trouble” and it is called “The Day of The LORD”.
The prophet Daniel explains it this way, “and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”
Many people will completely miss this truth because they believe it doesn’t apply to them. Many people falsely believe this time period applies only to physical “Jews” but this time period is describing a time of trouble for all of GOD’s children who are the spiritual children of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. If we are not Abraham’s spiritual children, then we are not Christ’s spiritual children and we are not saved.
Galatians 3:28-29
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, THEN ARE YE Abraham’s seed, AND HEIRS according to the promise.”
As long as we are born again believers (Abraham’s children) we inherit all the promises made to Abraham and his seed (that seed is Christ).
Genesis 24:27
“And he said,
Blessed be the LORD GOD of my master Abraham,
WHO hath not left destitute
my master of HIS mercy and HIS truth…”
Genesis 32:9-12
“And Jacob said, O GOD of my father Abraham, and GOD of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee: I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which THOU hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. DELIVER ME, I PRAY THEE, FROM THE HAND OF MY BROTHER, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children. And THOU saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.”

Jacob reminded the LORD about HIS promises to him. GOD didn’t forget, Jacob was reminding himself and encouraging himself to believe those promises of GOD despite facing great danger and trouble that seemed to jeopardize those promises. Jacob didn’t let go, and neither should we. Jacob was afraid and wanted reassurance of GOD’s promises, “And he said, I will not let Thee go, except Thou bless me.”
It was acceptable and pleasing to the LORD that Jacob struggled during his time of trouble and overcame that fear and prevailed by faith not giving up and not letting go of God; “And He said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power WITH GOD and with men, and hast prevailed.”

Psalms 27:4-14
“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in HIS temple.
FOR IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE
HE shall hide me in HIS pavilion:
in the secret of HIS tabernacle
shall HE hide me;
HE shall set me up upon a rock.
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in HIS tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When THOU saidst,
Seek ye MY face;
my heart said unto THEE,
THY face, LORD, will I seek.
Hide not THY face far from me;
put not thy servant away in anger:
THOU hast been my help;
leave me not, neither forsake me,
O GOD of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. Teach me THY way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait on the LORD:
be of good courage,
and HE shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Psalms 37:32-40
“The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
Wait on the LORD,
AND KEEP HIS way,
and HE shall exalt thee to inherit the land:
when the wicked are cut off,
thou shalt see it.
I have seen the wicked in great power,
and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
Yet he passed away,
and, lo, he was not: yea,
I sought him,
but he could not be found.
Mark the perfect man,
and behold the upright:
for the end of that man is peace.
But the transgressors shall be destroyed together:
the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD:
HE is their strength IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE.
And the LORD shall help them,
and deliver them:
HE shall deliver them from the wicked,
and save them, because they trust in HIM.”
Psalms 41:1-4
“Blessed is he that considereth the poor:
the LORD will deliver him IN TIME OF TROUBLE.
The LORD will preserve him,
and keep him alive;
and he shall be blessed upon the earth:
and THOU wilt not deliver him
unto the will of his enemies.
The LORD will strengthen him
upon the bed of languishing:
THOU wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
I said, LORD, be merciful unto me:
heal my soul; for I have sinned against THEE.”

Isaiah 33:2-6
“O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for THEE: be THOU their arm every morning, our salvation also IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE. At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of THYSELF the nations were scattered. And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall HE run upon them. The LORD is exalted; for HE dwelleth on high:
HE hath filled Zion
with judgment and righteousness.
And wisdom and knowledge
shall be THE STABILITY of thy times,
AND STRENGTH of salvation:
the fear of the LORD is HIS treasure.”
Jeremiah 30:6-11
“Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins,

it is even THE TIME OF JACOB’s TROUBLE;
but he shall be saved out of it.

Isaiah chapter 24
Daniel 12:1-3
“And at that time shall Michael STAND UP, THE GREAT Prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be A TIME OF TROUBLE, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
Luke 13:24-30
“Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. WHEN ONCE THE Master OF THE HOUSE IS RISEN UP, AND HATH SHUT TO THE DOOR, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. Matthew 25:10
